Not everyone that clicks the “Oh God yes, I want to play this game” button will receive a beta account.
The beta registration is still ongoing and apparently applicants will have to pass the developer's test. After a frustrating maintenance message that promised "the site will be back up in the next few hours” was all that the site could offer, it seems it's finally up and running again. The turntable of up and down events takes another turn. The people of the world want to see what this game is about. If the developers weren't sure just how gamers would receive this upcoming game, then this is a clear state of intention. Not good news for all the eager fans out there, but definitely great news for BioWare. Not such great news is that the site crashed soon after news of the beta registration spread. Today a beta registration for the game has been opened up on the official game site. Great news from BioWare regarding their Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG.
